Di Matteo ponders strike options

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has hinted that he may opt to start with two strikers in the crunch Champions League clash with Juventus in Turin.

The Blues still have plenty of work to do to reach the knockout stages of the competition and Di Matteo is considering major tactical changes to arrest a slump in from in recent weeks.

With the Blues 10/3 to win in Italy and 11/4 to gain a draw, Di Matteo is mulling pairing Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge in a bid to unsettle Juve.

He told reporters: "I've always said that we have two strikers in our team, Fernando and Daniel Sturridge. They're both fit and I'll have to see how we're going to go."

The Italian expects an open encounter against a Juve side who are 4/5 to secure a win which would put them in pole position to reach the last 16 ahead of the holders.

"I think it will be an open match, they are at home so it could be an advantage, but we will be very motivated," Di Matteo added.

"My intention is to create as many problems as possible. I've seen many of their games, including the last one against Lazio, where they played very well and were very aggressive. We need to defend, of course, but attack as well."
