Mayweather hints at 2013 blockbuster

Roger Mayweather has met with promoter Bob Arum to discuss plans for his nephew, Floyd Mayweather, to take on Timothy Bradley then Manny Pacquiao in 2013.

The news comes after Mayweather's advisor, Leonard Ellerbe, revealed 'Money' had instructed him to push ahead with a two-fight proposal - in May and September - for next year.

California fighter Bradley extended his unbeaten record to 29 with a controversial points win over Pacquiao in June, but Mayweather says his nephew will be too smart for the Cathedral City-born star.

"I'd like my nephew to fight Tim Bradley," Mayweather told the Los Angeles Times. "Bradley got the…win over Pacquiao. I know that's not a hard fight for my nephew."

He added: "He's a bigger name than the other guy. He's undefeated. He's going to try. If he can give the fans a little bit of a show, hey, it is what it is. If they can make that fight, it will really show what my nephew could do to Pacquiao, too, and stop these people from saying he'll never fight Pacquiao, or that he's scared."

Filipino superstar and congressman Pacquiao takes on great rival Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas on Saturday but Mayweather said a visit to see Arum left him confident a 2013 blockbuster against his nephew will happen.

"Arum liked the idea, making Bradley first," Mayweather said. "He said, 'I hope we can make that happen'."

Meanwhile Marquez is 3.00 to win the fight outright, with Pacquiao 1.40.
