Chelsea get Terry boost

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed that John Terry's knee injury is not as bad as was first thought and he will be out for about three weeks.

It looked as though the experienced centre-back's season was over when Liverpool striker Luis Suarez fell on his knee during their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Expectations were that Terry would be out for several months but Di Matteo has revealed his skipper should only be sidelined for a matter of weeks.

"With JT, we're looking at approximately three weeks," he said. "Fortunately, it's not as bad as we first thought. It's a MCL (medial cruciate ligament) strain."

The Blues will have to do without Terry this weekend, when they make the trip to The Hawthorns to take on a West Brom side that sit in fifth place in the Premier League table.

West Brom are 3.40 to win, 3.50 to draw and 2.10 to lose to Chelsea on home soil on Saturday.
