With the exception of Band Aid, the Hillsborough Charity Single is now the shortest priced single in the history of Christmas number one betting. William Hill have today cut the price of it topping the festive charts from 1/6 to 1/8 after a customer placed a £12,000 bet at 1/6, which if successful will win the customer a mere £2,000 for his huge investment.
“You have to be supremely confident to risk £12,000 to win just two. Having looked at the line-up, I can see why this is going to be all but impossible to beat,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
