Magic returns home to face the Kings

The Orlando Magic go in search of their second consecutive victory on Wednesday when they welcome the Sacramento Kings to the Amway Center.

All five starters were in double figures and Tobias Harris came off the bench to add a further 16 points in the well-balanced 98-84 win over the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to snap Orlando’s five-game losing streak.

Despite the victory, the Magic remains close to the cellar in the Eastern Conference with only the Charlotte Bobcats between Orlando and the worst record in the league.

Sacramento are in town after stretching the Miami Heat to the limit on Tuesday before falling 141-129 in double overtime. LeBron James had 40 points on 14-of-23 shooting and also dished out 16 assists in a well played game that saw both sides shot over 51%.

Marcus Thornton, a former second round draft pick of the Heat in 2009, came off the bench for the visitors with a team-high 36 points on 11-of-18 from the floor but was unable to push Sacramento to what would have been their most impressive triumph of the campaign.

The Kings are 2.10 to pick up the win on the money line, while the Magic are 1.76 for a second successive win.

Over in the Central Division the Milwaukee Bucks increased their lead, in the battle for the final place in the Eastern Conference post-season race, to five games after winning in Dallas against the Mavericks.

Recent acquisition J.J. Redick chipped in with a useful 14 points from the bench as the visitors rallied for a fourth quarter victory at the American Airlines Center.

Dirk Nowitzki had his first 20-20 evening of the season adding 21 points to 20 rebounds, but Dallas has now lost two in a row and are five games adrift of the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference with both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers better placed to challenge.
