Christmas Comes Early With Five Premier League Favourites Faltering
William Hill were celebrating one of the best football days in living memory as a number of favourites were put to the sword by their “lowlier” opposition. In the Premier League, no fewer than five fancied sides failed to oblige with Arsenal, Manchester City, West Brom, QPR and Chelsea all well backed for three points.
“We have taken a couple of big hits in the Premier League this season but this weekend, we have cause to celebrate,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
One side that was well backed for victory, however, was Manchester United who, for the eighth time this season, came from behind to win and with the Manchester derby on the horizon next weekend they are 8/1 to fall behind to their rivals and emerge victorious. United are 5/6 to win the Premier League with Manchester City 5/4.
