Inter rule out Balotelli return

Inter Milan have ruled themselves out of an emotional homecoming for Manchester City's Mario Balotelli

The Serie A giants have been constantly linked with moves for the controversial forward, along with cross-city rivals AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain.

Balotelli left Inter for £22million back in 2010, having come through their youth ranks and Inter fans still hold him in high regard.

But Inter owner Massimo Moratti insists: "I really don't think that Balotelli will be coming back to Inter. As far as I'm concerned, the team will stay more or less the way it is now."

It was Balotelli who opened the scoring on Wednesday night in City's 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic, which kept them one point behind rivals Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table.

But boss Roberto Mancini has a tough decision to make ahead of hosting Everton this weekend, with games also to come in the next ten days against Borussia Dortmund and United.

Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko dropped to the bench at the DW Stadium and could face the Toffees, who have proved a bogey team for City in recent seasons.

Everton are the last team to win at the Etihad Stadium in the league, nearly two years ago, and Mancini is set to make full use of his squad to keep them fresh for the challenges ahead.

The Citizens are 1.53 to defeat Everton on Saturday afternoon, with the game 7.50 to end in a 1-1 draw, while City are 8.00 to repeat their 2-0 win from the corresponding fixture last season.
