Winning momentum delights Freedman

Bolton have been told to get their timing just right if they want to gate crash the play-offs in the remaining weeks.

Dougie Freedman's team have come from nowhere and now sit just two points off the all-important promotion mix.

It was less than three months ago that Wanderers were looking nervously over their shoulders at the spectre of a relegation battle.

There were even calls from some sections of the home support questioning the wisdom of appointing Freedman at the turn of the year.

But the Scot insists his team are now flying and a win this weekend away to Bristol City will keep the momentum moving forward at a pivotal time.

The Reebok Stadium boss admits: "The lads are now moving along nicely. I have a small concern though the games are running out. That's the problem getting into the play-offs.

"Our performances over the last dozen games have shown a real determination to get there. We are heading in the right direction but timing is everything in football."

Bolton are 2.25 to win, 3.40 to draw and 3.10 to lose to Bristol City.
