Bale hit by injury blow

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has said Gareth Bale will be ruled out for at least two weeks after picking up a hamstring injury during his side’s 3-0 victory over Fulham.

The Welsh flyer was substituted in the second-half after pulling up following a shot on goal, and there were fears from the Tottenham faithful that the injury could rule Bale out of first-team contention for a considerable length of time.

With central defender Michael Dawson also suffering a hamstring injury, Villas-Boas has been hit with a double blow as he continues his quest to secure a top-four Premier League spot for the North London side this season, but the former Porto manager moved quickly to play down concerns over both injuries.

"Both Bale and Dawson have suffered hamstring muscle injuries," said Villas-Boas

"One looks more serious than the other although both are controllable.

"With muscle injuries it's very difficult but it might keep him out for one to weeks. Dawson a little bit less."

If Dawson recovers quickly, he could be fit to face Everton in their next Premier League match-up at Goodison. Spurs are rated as 9/4 to claim the three points, with the Toffees 6/5.
