Balotelli to be handed new lifeline

Mario Balotelli is poised to come in from the cold for Manchester City's FA Cup third round clash against Watford this weekend.
The controversial Italian striker has been sidelined since 9th December because of a combination of a poor attitude to training and a flu virus over the Christmas period.
AC Milan continue to be linked with the 22-year-old during this transfer window, but boss Roberto Mancini is ready to throw the player yet another lifeline.
Balotelli's return can come at a good time for City, who are set to be without Sergio Aguero for up to a month after he suffered a hamstring strain during the 3-0 victory over Stoke City on New Year's Day.
City, who won the FA Cup two seasons ago, will put out a strong team against the rapidly improving Hornets, and Balotelli will be challenged to lead the assault.
Assistant boss David Platt said: "Mario has had two or three days training and will have another few days before the game with Watford. There is every chance he will be available for selection."
Another player who will be in the reckoning is central defender Joleon Lescott, despite reports he could be about to depart the Etihad Stadium.
Platt insists: "Joleon has a contract here. Until something changes, I can't see the point in the questions. We know what Joleon can do and what he is capable of doing."
