Benitez refuses to concede defeat

Rafael Benitez is convinced that Chelsea can still win the Capital One Cup despite their shock semi-final first leg defeat to Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.

Michu and Danny Graham found the net for Michael Laudrup's side on Wednesday evening as the Swans secured an impressive 2-0 victory in the capital.

It was the second surprising result of the week in the competition following Bradford City's amazing 3-1 victory against Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Chelsea are 11/4 to win the Capital One Cup while Aston Villa can be backed at 4/1, Bradford City at 15/2 and Swansea City at 1/1.

Benitez was criticised for not including Demba Ba or Frank Lampard in his starting line-up against Swansea but remains upbeat about his side's chances of overturning the deficit at the Liberty Stadium in a fortnight's time.

He said: "Swansea have a great advantage but, if we go there and score one goal, we can see what happens. The team is doing a lot of good things and hopefully we can carry on improving.

"You can lose a game and then analyse it, but if you play this game ten times maybe you will win nine of them. I think the team were doing really well, had a lot of chances and could have scored two or three in the first half, but we made two mistakes and paid for them."

Meanwhile, Chelsea captain John Terry is close to a comeback. He has been absent since suffering knee ligament damage in November but could feature in this weekend's Premier League game against Stoke City.
