Defoe dismisses QPR move talk
England and Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has dismissed the possibility of moving to QPR in January where he would be reunited with Harry Redknapp.
Reports had suggested Redknapp was keen to bring the 30-year-old to Loftus Road as he attempts to lift his new side off the foot of the Premier League table. QPR, who have failed to win any of their first 14 Premier League matches of the campaign, are currently 4/6 to be relegated and 2/1 to finish bottom.
Defoe, who is Spurs' leading scorer this season with ten goals in all competitions, has played for Redknapp at West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham in the past.
However, he is not interested in moving to QPR, insisting: "That's not going to happen. I'm not leaving Tottenham, I love the club and to score goals at a big club like this is fantastic.
"If the opportunity comes to leave the club it won't be happening. I don't want to leave, I'm a Spurs player - and I'm happy. I'd like to finish my career at Tottenham. I want to achieve something special here - it's a great time to be at the club."
Meanwhile, Luka Modric hopes Gareth Bale will eventually join him at Real Madrid. The Croatian moved to the Bernabeu at the start of the season and is keen to be reunited with Bale in the Spanish capital.
Former Spurs star Modric said: "We used to talk and I know he wants to play Champions League football every season and has a big dream of winning the Champions League.
"Madrid would be a great club for him to achieve his dreams. I play with Ronaldo here at Madrid and the way he just runs with the ball with such confidence and defenders back off him is exactly the same as Gareth. To have the both in the same team would be unstoppable."
