Fulham must find winning formula - Jol

Martin Jol has admitted he is concerned with how quickly the situation at Fulham has deteriorated as he targets a return to winning ways.

The Cottagers haven't won a game since they beat Aston Villa 1-0 on October 20, picking up four points from the seven matches they have played since then.

Fulham's poor run of form has seen them drop to 13th in the Premier League table, just four points off a spot in the bottom three.

Not only have the west London club lost the ability to win games they have also struggled to score in recent matches, their lost goal coming  298 minutes ago in the 3-1 defeat to Sunderland.

Monday's opponents Newcastle have had problems of their own recently but ended a run of four straight defeats with a win over Wigan last week.

Fulham start the game a place better off than the Toon on goal difference, suggesting there is likely to be little to choose between the two on the pitch.

Jol's men are 1/1 to end their recent slump, with Newcastle 11/4 and the draw 5/2.

Fulham thumped the Magpies 5-2 in the corresponding fixture last season and Jol would be delighted to see a similar result as he admits he is concerned by his team's recent run of form.

"We have to pick up ourselves and pick up some points.

"Against Sunderland, for example, before Brede Hangeland's red card, I thought we were the better team.

"It all started on that day. We got injuries to Bryan Ruiz and Alex Kacaniklic so after that we had to change things and I feel we are good enough to come up with a solution.

"Three weeks ago we were all very happy at Fulham and two weeks later the situation totally changes."
