Lampard targets Amsterdam glory

Frank Lampard hopes that Chelsea can complete a superb week by winning the Europa League final, having broken the club's all-time goalscoring record against Aston Villa.

The 34-year-old netted both Blues goals in a 2-1 win at Villa Park which all but ensured Champions League football next season, before Lampard turned his attentions to an Amsterdam date with Benfica on Wednesday evening.

Having moved on to 203 career Chelsea goals, he told reporters: "Today was really nice, not only personally, but it got us into the Champions League and a club like Chelsea need to compete at that level.

"Strange things have happened at this club over the years, but the one constant is the success."

With his own future in doubt as he is out of contract in the summer, Lampard added: "I hope to be here next year. We've got a huge week coming up and hopefully at the end of that week we can sit down and sort it (a new deal) out."

Meanwhile, both John Terry (ankle) and Eden Hazard (hamstring) are doubts for the Europa League final after picking up knocks against Villa, with the Blues waiting on scans on their respective injuries.

Chelsea are 1.66 to win the Europa League final and 11.00 to triumph 2-0 in normal time, with Benfica 2.25 to lift the trophy in the Amsterdam ArenA.
