Pellegrini seeks home comforts

Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has said he expects the Champions League last-16 double-header against FC Porto will be decided at Estadio La Rosaleda.

Los Boquerones emerged from Group C unbeaten and head to Estadio do Dragao in good health domestically having maintained fourth spot in La Liga on Saturday with a 1-0 win against Athletic Club.

Chilean coach Pellegrini believes a strong qualifying campaign will stand his players in good stead for a difficult assignment in Portugal and expects the tie will unravel when the two sides meet again in Spain.

Malaga can be backed at 2.05 to qualify and are also quoted 67.00 in the Champions League outright betting.

The 59-year-old said: "In 180 minutes a lot can happen. Porto are a good team, but we have proved in this season's competition that we are at the same level. It's likely the outcome of the tie will be decided in Malaga."

He added: "Few people expected us to get here, so these are the sort of games our fans should relish. We believed we could make it this far when we set out and now we are facing Porto, one of the best teams in Portugal."

Eliseu will not be involved on Tuesday having failed to recover in time from the damaged right knee ligament he suffered against Real Zaragoza at the beginning of the month.
