Evans commits to Manchester United

Manchester United have been given a boost with the news that defender Jonny Evans has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal.
The 24-year-old has already made 141 appearances for the Red Devils and the Northern Irishman will now remain at Old Trafford until at least 2016.
Evans enjoyed a brief loan spell with Sunderland but, since returning from the Stadium of Light in 2008, he has been a regular in the first-team under manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Having put pen to paper on a new deal, Evans revealed his delight at prolonging his stay with United ahead of their Premier League clash with Swansea City on Sunday.
He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to sign my new contract.
"I'm so proud to play for such a great club, and there's no better feeling than playing football in this team and winning games.
"I've always felt that this is the right club for me. Even when I was nine or ten years old back home in Northern Ireland, clubs asked me to go on trial, but I didn't go because I knew that Manchester United was the place I wanted to play football."
