Zubizarreta wary of Milan threat

Andoni Zubizarreta has warned his Barcelona players to expect a "tough and demanding" Champions League round of 16 double-header against AC Milan.

The La Liga leaders have not lost in the last seven meetings between the two giants of European club football and make the trip to Italy on Wednesday for the first leg with a 12-point lead over Ateltico Madrid in Spain. The Catalans can be backed at 2.87 in the Champions League outright betting.

Massimiliano Allegri has seen his players recover from a poor start to the season to climb to fourth off the back of a seven-game unbeaten run and the Rossoneri have won six consecutive games at the San Siro in Serie A. Milan are available to back at 1.80 in the Serie A top-three finish betting.

"We have good relations with Milan but we have to remember that this is going to be a tough and demanding Champions League match," director of sport Zubizarreta told reporters.

A big turnover in personnel at the San Siro in the close-season led to a wretched start to the Scudetto but Zubizarreta insisted Barca would be taking nothing for granted.

He added: "They still know how to compete, with fans who are clear about what the big challenges are.

"Milan are one of those teams that aren't frightened by the big occasion and know how to manage the scoreline."
