Moyes targets long FA Cup run

David Moyes is determined not to under-estimate Cheltenham Town when his Everton side travel to Whaddon Road for Monday's FA Cup third-round encounter.

The League Two side are in the hunt for a promotion spot this season and have a good home record, but Moyes is remaining coy about how strong a side he will field.

The experienced manager said: "We want to go as far as we can in the FA Cup and we will be doing everything we can to get through. We will not under-estimate Cheltenham and we will have to go there and do a really good job if we want to get into the next round.

"Cheltenham have done very well at home and they are a decent side. I watched them against Hereford in the replay and they are going well in their division. They have got a wee bit of confidence because they are playing well in their league.

"Our players have to play - that's what they're here for. Otherwise, they'll be thrust into the really big games and people have to be ready. We'll have a look at it and see what we plan to do in terms of selection."

The winners of Monday's game will face either Bolton Wanderers or Sunderland away in the fourth round.

Everton can be backed at 1/3 to emerge victorious at Whaddon Road while the Robins are available at 9/1 to cause a shock. Moyes' side are 12/1 to win this season's FA Cup.

Everton have not won the trophy since 1995 when they beat Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley, although they lost 2-1 to Chelsea in the final four years ago.
