New deal for Laudrup

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has signed a new deal and will remain with the club until the summer of 2015.

The Dane took charge at the Liberty Stadium in the summer following Brendan Rodgers' decision to join Liverpool.

Laudrup has impressed in his debut campaign in England by leading the Swans to League Cup glory, while the club are on course for a top 10 finish in the Premier League.

Chairman Huw Jenkins is delighted the former Getafe and Mallorca boss has agreed to extend his stay with Swansea.

"This is a major boost for everyone involved with Swansea City, from the players, staff and Board of Directors through to the most important people of all, our supporters ,''  Jenkins told thisissouthwales.

"You can never guarantee how things will work out  when you employ a new manager, especially after the success we've had in recent seasons, but I think everyone has seen for themselves that Michael has helped to take this football club to another level.

"He is a pleasure to work with because he shares the same philosophy as everyone at this football  club.

"He has ensured that we have progressed again this season and I am convinced his knowledge, experience and expertise  will ensure we keep moving forward for the next few years.''

Swansea take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday and are 3.20 to take all three points, Laudrup's side are 19.00 to seal a top six finish in the league.
