Ferguson retains FA Cup confidence

Sir Alex Ferguson remains confident that Manchester United can reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup, despite throwing away a winning position against Chelsea.

The Red Devils held a two-goal advantage at Old Trafford on Sunday, but allowed the Blues to hit back and earn a replay, with Manchester City awaiting the winners in the last four.

Ferguson told MUTV: "We are still in the cup. Wembley is waiting for one of us to go through and hopefully it is us.

"We go to Stamford Bridge for the replay with confidence, we have the tools. We have been there before this season and done well, with the squad we have we don't fear going anywhere."

United are 4.00 to win the FA Cup this season, with Chelsea 4.00 and Manchester City 2.37.

Meanwhile, interim Blues boss Rafa Benitez has urged his players to focus on the Stamford Bridge replay rather than looking ahead to a possible Wembley semi-final.

He told his club's official website: "We have to think about the first game. You cannot think about Manchester City before you play Manchester United.

"I have the belief we can do it, but there is still a lot of respect because United is a great side."
