Hodgson quick to move forward

England boss Roy Hodgson has praised his players for their 8-0 demolition of San Marino but he has already switched his attentions to their World Cup qualifier with Montenegro.

Hodgson's side were fully expected to romp to victory against San Marino on Friday and did not disappoint, with seven different goalscorers getting their names on the scoresheet and one own goal completing another night to forget for the home side in Serravalle.

The England manager was pleased with how his side went about securing the convincing victory but has already turned his attentions to what has turned out to be a big game for the Three Lions against Montenegro on Tuesday.

Hodgson told Sky Sports: "It was very good. It was great to see some of the players that haven't had the chance to play in the team get a chance from the start tonight. I thought every single one of them lived up to my hopes and expectations.

"It's a big game for us (against Montenegro). We see it as a big game because they are one of our serious rivals for the top spot and we must do our best to try and get a result there."

England are 1.75 to win, 3.50 to draw and 4.75 to lose in their encounter with Montenegro on Tuesday night.
