Vidic ready for West Ham battle

Manchester United have been ordered to 'roll up their sleeves' once again when they travel to face West Ham on Wednesday night.

Sir Alex Ferguson's team were able to re-establish a 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League on Sunday with a 2-0 victory at Stoke City.

The Red Devils bounced back in style from the derby defeat to rivals Manchester City just a few days beforehand.

United now need another seven points to set the seal on a 20th title and Nemanja Vidic expects another physical examination of their mettle at Upton Park.

The Serbian defender admits: "You think you are almost there but we have to win the games. We have built up our confidence from our win at Stoke. It was a big game for us.

"After City we reacted well and now need to do the same at West Ham. They have a similar way of playing to Stoke maybe with the long balls. We have to do well there."

Veteran midfielder Paul Scholes has trained well in the last few days and could make a surprise appearance after a long lay-off following a knee operation.

United are 1.66 to win at Upton Park, with the draw 4.00, while the Red Devils are 2.50 to keep a clean sheet.
