Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his Gunners squad is 'quite complete' and he will only spend this month to bring in an 'exceptional player'.
The North Londoners are currently in sixth place in the Premier League ahead of an Emirates Stadium showdown with champions Manchester City on Sunday, with Wenger playing down talk of moves into the transfer market this month.
"If you look at our squad, it is quite complete," Wenger told reporters. "We still work on the transfer market as well, but we do not want to bring in average players.
"We only want to bring in an exceptional player and at the moment we have not found him.
"You are always under pressure to buy in England and every problem has to be sorted out by buying people."
Arsenal are 11/10 to finish in the top four this season and 1/10 to secure a top-six spot, while they are 10/1 to win the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Wenger is also aware that his side face a tough run of fixtures in the next few weeks, with league fixtures against Chelsea and Liverpool also on the horizon after the visit of the Citizens.
The Frenchman added: "We know this a vital period for us.
"We still lack a bit of confidence in some situations and I feel our team will be very dangerous if we have full confidence."
