Wenger rules out quitting Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he has not considered quitting the club for one second, despite the Gunners' long wait for silverware seeming set to continue.

Wenger has come under pressure in recent times after seeing his side crash out of the FA Cup at the hands of Blackburn Rovers, while a midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich turned the heat up further.

However, Wenger, whose side are now 176.00 to win the Champions League this season, insists that he is going nowhere for the time being.

He said: "What we need is to be united and strong and not to be destabilised by people who have strong opinions after one game.

"I believe what is important is that the club always goes with the guidelines we have and do not change direction every time we lose a big game, that would lead to a disaster.

"A bad period for a club is also a good opportunity to show how united and strong you are. We have a good history of that at Arsenal."

Arsenal are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners 1.33 to win the game, while the draw is 5.75.

Right-back Bacary Sagna will miss the game due to a knee injury, with Arsenal hoping to avoid a third home league defeat to Villa in the last five seasons.
