Wigan's approach impresses Redknapp

QPR boss Harry Redknapp believes continuity has been behind Wigan Athletic's ability to defy the odds season after season and remain in the Premier League.
When the Latics were promoted to the top-flight eight years ago they were expected to be relegated immediately but under Paul Jewell, Steve Bruce and now Roberto Martinez, they have maintained their position in the Premier League.
QPR play Wigan at Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon in a match that could go a long way to determining who is playing in the Premier League next season.
QPR are 1.071 to be relegated this season while Wigan are available at 3.00 to finish in the bottom three.
Redknapp said of Wigan: "They've had continuity with the manager. He's been able to build his own team. Probably at QPR, they've made a lot of changes but Mark Hughes felt he had to bring in his own players in.
"Wigan have done very well. Dave Whelan's done a fantastic job there. He stayed with Roberto all the time."
QPR are seven points adrift of safety with only seven matches of the season left but Redknapp insists progress has been made since he replaced Mark Hughes as manager five months ago.
He added: "If we went down I would beat myself up over it, of course I would. I knew we were in a hard position when I took over. We had four points from 13 games, so it was never going to be easy and we'd already played Southampton, Reading and Norwich at home. But then if we'd won the games, I wouldn't be manager now.
"The team are playing as well as they've ever played at the moment and that's such a shame because in the last two games we haven't had the rewards. We've been going forward, opening up teams and making chances, looking like we can score goals.
"It's suddenly looking like we can score. It's all about players. Now we have Loic Remy and Andros Townsend and they have given us something. It makes a difference."
Remy is 6.50 to open the scoring against Wigan in a game QPR can be backed at 9.00 to win 2-1.
