Wenger surprised by Wilshere progress

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he will find it difficult to leave Jack Wilshere out of his plans as he prepares for Tuesday's Capital One Cup tie at Bradford.
Wilshere was in the thick of the action for the Gunners against West Brom on Saturday in a man-of-the-match display. However, Wenger is mindful the 20-year-old's recovery from injuries which saw him miss all of last season is not yet complete.
"This is the first time I see him very, very close to the player he is," said the Arsenal manager.
"We have to see if he has no reaction. It was good to leave at home in midweek (for the Champions League tie at Olympiacos) to give him a breather from time to time.
"But when he plays at that level, and you are under the pressure we are under to win the games, it is difficult to leave him out.
"The surprising thing for me is that he is (ahead of schedule). I expected him to be back at his best next year, in February. He looks (almost back to his best) much earlier than I expected him to be."
Wenger will hope to follow up Saturday's Premier League win with a victory over the Bantams at Valley Parade on Tuesday as he looks to build some momentum in what has been a disappointing season so far. His side are 22/1 to win 3-2, while a clean sheet for the Gunners is at 6/5. Tomas Rosicky to score first can be backed at 8/1.
