Redknapp hints at Keane reunion

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he is keen to tempt Robbie Keane to move to Loftus Road on a short-term deal.

Keane's MLS season ended last weekend with success at LA Galaxy but Redknapp hopes the much-travelled Republic of Ireland international would be interested in returning to the Premier League.

QPR are currently bottom of the table and are 1.53 to be relegated this season while Norwich City are 5.00 to go down and West Ham 23.00 to finish in the bottom three.

The likes of Tim Cahill and Landon Donovan have also been linked with a return to England, but Redknapp is particularly keen to be reunited with Keane, who he signed for Tottenham in 2009.

"The MLS market is one that we've got to look at," Redknapp said. "Robbie's a good shout. He probably would be an interesting player.

"I haven't spoken to him yet no but he would be an interesting player. He's a good pro and he would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something."

Redknapp has also been linked with Spurs midfielder David Bentley, whose loan deal with Russian club FC Rostov ends in January.

"Bentley's a good player," added Redknapp. "It shows that he must have wanted to play football to go to Russia so credit to him. He could have stayed and took his money but he's gone out to Russia. Dave's a good footballer - I haven't had problems with him."
