India clinch one-day series

India won the one-day series against England with a five-wicket victory in the fourth match in Mohali, Suresh Raina top-scoring with an unbeaten 89.

Chasing 258 to win, the hosts reached their target with five wickets to spare as they secured the series 3-1.

Put into bat, England made one change with Jos Buttler coming in for Craig Kieswetter, the Somerset player keeping wicket in a ODI for the first time.

Ian Bell was the first to go for ten. He tried to smash Rohit Sharma but got an outside edge and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a good catch. Kevin Pietersen joined Alastair Cook and the captain was looking good for a century until he was given out lbw to Ravichandran Ashwin for 76. Replays showed the decision was a poor one and Cook was not happy as he walked back to the dressing room.

A mini-collapse followed as Eoin Morgan was out for three, and Samit Patel was caught and bowled by Ravindrasinh Jadeja for a single run. However, Joe Root showed his class as he put on a quickfire unbeaten 57, and Pietersen steadied the innings with 76. Buttler and Tim Bresnan fell late on for 14 and nought respectively, England eventually posting what appeared to be a respectable total of 257-7.

The tourists took an early wicket, Gautam Gambhir falling for ten to Bresnan to leave India on 20-1. Kohli followed in the 17th over to James Tredwell, who struck again to take the wicket of Yuvraj Singh lbw, and India were 90-3. However, India put on another 67 runs before Sharma went lbw to Steve Finn, who was denied the wicket of Raina due to a dead ball after his knee hit the stumps.

England looked deflated after that decision and the series was soon slipping away. MS Dhoni went to Jade Dernbach in the 40th over with the score on 213-5, but India were in cruise control. Raina steered them home with a fluent 89, ably assisted by Jadeja.

England are 5.50 to win the Champions Trophy this year, while India can be backed at 6.00. South Africa are available at 5.00.
